JT's Christmas Program
On Friday, Dec 3rd, JT's school, La Habra United Methodist Preschool had their annual Christmas Program. JT was so excited to go and sing for us! He practiced at home and gave mini performances for us while standing on a step-ladder.
The program started with the Pre-K kids and then the Preschool children sang, then the whole school together.
All the friends and families were so proud of the kids, and they did such a fabulous job! After, they had cookies as a treat for the kids, and us big kids too!
There's just nothing like experiencing Christmas through the eyes of a child...it's just magical!

Christmas cards by Shutterfly!
It's the most wonderful time of the year!! It's also possibly the most stressful too! One of those things that adds to the stress is Christmas cards...at least photo Christmas cards! You have to get the fam together, all in a good mood, dressed nicely, and all smiling and happy...no easy feat!
So in this house we turn to Shutterfly!
This year they have a ton of new designs and I'm super excited to tell you that because of this post they are offering us 50 free cards! (If you're a blogger you too can get 50 free cards, go here for all the info--hurry, there's still time!)
Just like the millions of families that choose to send out photo Christmas cards each year, we're busy over here trying to pick out our fave from Shutterfly! Obviously, it's never easy choosing which design to go with, and because Shutterfly offers so many great choices, no matter what we choose I know it will be fabulous!
They have tons of beautiful designs, and you can have just a single photo or multiple photos. I love that they offer flat cards as well as folded ones, and they even have some that have the option to add more photos inside along with plenty of space to write to everyone about what happened in your family this year...the options are endless!

So, why these cards? Well, Sarah loves the monogram aspect of the first card, and she loves the Peace/Love/Joy saying of the second card. Believe me, it wasn't easy getting her to select her faves because honestly the selection of cards is so fantastic, it's hard to choose!
So, in the next few days the perfect picture has to be taken, selected, and then the final selection of the card will be made, and thanks to Shutterfly the Christmas cards will be done and on their way!

Last Christmas I made a cute photo wall calendar for Sarah for Christmas. It's been a big hit this year at work, and people are always stopping by her desk to look at it...I think maybe she needs a new one this year...

BACK TO SCHOOL!
At the end of August the King kids ventured off for another year of learning!
Cassidy is now a big 3rd grader and Ben is in 6th grade this year.
But the biggest news, is that Garrett started Kindergarten!! Yay! Fun times are ahead for these smart and wonderful kids! We wish them a great school year full of learning, fun, friends and adventures! Kelly snapped a few 1st day of school pics to commenorate the big day!

Auntie Mel goes to Utah!
The 1st week of August, Auntie Mel took a nice vacation to Utah to see the King family! There were lots of outings and tons of fun, here are some of the highlights from the trip!

| We had a camp out in the canyon, complete with smores, and a rancid watermelon that Ben found in the stream. Auntie Mel also saved Garrett's life as he was trying to climb down a very steep hill-- then she slid all the way down the hill on her booty--luckily we don't have a picture of that oh-so-glamorous moment!! |

| Kelly and Melissa took a trip into Salt Lake City to tour Temple Square and to have a nice sisterly lunch without the kids. The sky was gloomy and the thunder and lightning just added to the beauty of it all! |

| We ventured to the local mini golf course for some great fun! Auntie Mel is not known for her putt-putt skills!! |
 |
| On Friday, we went to Garrett's last swim lesson of the summer! He has improved so much, and even swam without help from one side to the other! He was so proud, he was rewarded with a very cool sword that makes all kinds of music! |
 |
| We also went to This is the Place Heritage Park, in SLC. An old Deseret Village, a restored and recreated living community memorializing Utah's pioneer past. It was so neat to see how life was back then. They even have all the old-timey candies too! We panned for gold, saw a kid get a shave from the barber who was also the dentist ,rode the train around the lake, petted lots of animals, rode some ponies, and had a few naughty lambs try to eat the backpack our lunch was in! |

| We can't forget Tyler the sweet fat kitty! He spent his days sleeping and getting attention from Auntie Mel. I tried to get a pic of Gracie, Tyler's mom, but she was too camera shy! There was also bowling at Fat Cats, the yummiest ice cream @ the Creamery, shopping at DI , where I scored some awesome deals, jam-making, bread-making, recipe copying, craft time, Karaoke with Cass and her BFF Adi, movie watching,Wii bowling tournaments, yard-saling, a trip to Lehi Mills, where I found a copy of my fave cookbook, American Girl doll playing, lots of gum-chewing, and bubble popping by baby Sam, and a delicious Sunday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Kings home...and so much more!! All in all it was a fantastic trip! I had so much fun and I can't wait for you guys to come in September! |
